The hard part isn't finding a Trak Racer rig you like the look of, it's working out which one actually suits your space, your wheelbase, and how far you want to take your setup.
This guide breaks the range down into three tiers, with a seat pairing for each, so you can land on a setup that fits your room and your budget without over or under buying.
More torque needs more rigidity. The cockpit you choose should match the wheelbase you're running (or plan to run), not just your budget.
Just Getting Started — TR40S & TR80S
If you're running an entry to mid level direct drive base (think MOZA R5/R9, Simagic Alpha Mini, or similar around 5 to 12Nm) and want something that won't take over the room, the TR40S and TR80S are the obvious starting points. Both fold or break down for storage and are an easy first step up from a wheel stand.
The TR40S is Trak Racer's lightest cockpit, an aluminium extrusion frame that's sturdy enough for everyday use and small enough to tuck away when you're done. Pair it with the Recliner Sim Racing Seat for a comfortable, relaxed driving position that suits both racing and casual use.
The TR80S uses a heavier duty frame than the TR40S with more adjustment points for wheel deck position, pedal angle and seat height. If you've outgrown a desk setup but aren't ready for the bigger rigs yet, this is the sensible middle ground. Pair it with the GT Pro Racing Seat for a proper bucket seat feel.
The All-Rounder — TR120S V2 & TR8 Pro V2
Once you're running a 15 to 20Nm base, or you've started adding monitor stands and motion accessories, the TR120S V2 and TR8 Pro V2 give you a much more rigid platform to build on. Both come with the seat slider kit included, so you're not buying that separately.
The TR120S V2 is one of our most popular sellers for good reason, it's rigid enough for most direct drive bases, the seat slider kit is included as standard, and it's compatible with the full range of Trak Racer monitor stands if you want to add screens later. The RS GT Rally-Pro seat gives you a bit more bolster and adjustment than the entry level options.
The TR8 Pro V2 steps up to a heavier steel frame, built for higher torque bases and triple monitor setups without flex creeping in under hard braking. We'd pair this with the TRS TR Series GT Pro seat, it's a deeper bucket with more side support for longer sessions.
Go Big — TR160 V5, Racing TRX V2 & Alpine Racing V2 TRX
If you're running a 20Nm+ wheelbase, building toward a triple monitor or motion setup, or you just want the cockpit to be the last one you ever need to buy, this is where the range tops out. Both options below are built to take serious torque without any flex through the chassis.
The TR160 V5 uses a full length aluminium extrusion chassis that's about as rigid as cockpits get without going to a fully welded steel rig. Seat slider kit included, and it'll happily carry our biggest monitor stands and motion platforms. The TRS TR Series GT Pro seat is the right match here, deep bolsters and a proper racing position.
The Racing TRX V2 (available in Black, Bull Blue, Silver Arrow and Tifosi Red) and the officially licensed Alpine Racing V2 TRX take the monocoque, F1 inspired design and bring it to a fixed seating position rig with serious presence. These are built for high torque bases and aren't going anywhere once they're set up. Finish it off with the TRS TR Series GT Pro seat for the full cockpit feel.
